Welcome to the Amwell Magna Fishery.

The drawing on the right by Edmund New, is taken from the 1897 edition of "The Compleat Angler". It shows our old club house and Keeper's Cottage.

Fished by Izaak Walton, in the 17th century, this stretch of the River Lea, Hertfordshire, has since 1841 been home to the Amwell Magna Fishery. The oldest fly fishing club in the UK, still fishing the same stretch of river.
